Leo Lionni (1910-1999, b. Netherland) is the author of the world-famous picture books "Swimmy" and "Little Blue and Little Yellow" that have been beloved for over 60 years since their publication. Based in Italy and the United States during the 20th century Lionni worked across diverse fields including painting, design, and picture books, and he exchanged mutual influences with many artists including Bruno Munari and other cultural figures.
This exhibition showcases Lionni’s lifelong creative work, as well as the works of artists with whom he had influential relationships. It also features original illustrations from Lionni's picture books, looking back on his 30 years of picture book making.
