Detail
Eguchi Hisashi (b. 1956, Kumamoto prefecture) began his career as a comedy manga author with "Susume!! Pirates" (1977) and "Stop!! Hibari-kun!" (1981) in Weekly Shonen Jump.
However, the cute, cool, and stylish girls he depicted quickly became popular, and since the 1990s he has been a prominent artist in the genre of contemporary bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women).
This exhibition introduces the world of Eguchi Hisashi with approximately 450 llustrations of women including the latest. It reveals his 45 years of endless pursuit of women's beauty. His works skillfully capturing the youth culture will tell us a story that reflects our young days.
