Detail

The outstanding art collection of the Adachi Museum of Art, based on the collection of a Shimane's successful businessman, Adachi Zenko, consists of 2,000 pieces, including Japanese paintings, ceramics, pictures for children, wood carvings and lacquer art. In particular, it boasts both quality and quantity of the works of Yokoyama Taikan, who represents the modern Japanese art.
This exhibition introduces 57 pieces from the museum's proud collection of Japanese paintings by masters from the Meiji to Showa periods, centering on Yokoyama Taikan, Kawai Gyokudo and Takeuchi Seiho. This is the first time the museum's collection is displayed in Iwate. Please enjoy these masterpieces which Adachi Zenko collected in passionate pursuit of "Japanese beauty".
