"The Dramatic Vessel": The Beauty of the Vessel, Perfected by the World's Ceramic Artists

Nov. 14 - Dec. 20

Detail

Ceramic vessels have been created and used in daily life all over the world. In contemporary ceramic art, the vessel has also moved beyond a purely functional role to become an expressive theme for ceramic beauty. Based on the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Shiga prefecture, the exhibition showcases approximately 150 works by the artists from around the world including Bernard Leach, Lucie Rie, Peter Voulkos and Hamada Shoji . It introduces you to the dramatic beauty expressed in the ceramic vessels.
