The People by Kishin

Dec. 23, 2017 - Feb. 18, 2018

Detail

Photographer Shinoyama Kishin (1940-, b. Tokyo) has been working enthusiastically since 1950’s on themes such as portraits of famous people, Japan’s traditional performing arts, nude with nature, and urbanscape with architecture. While his sensational portrait photographs provoke controversy, their distinct beauty and strong impact always captivate many viewers. The exhibition presents highly selected 110 portrait works of Shinoyama which demonstrate “the power of photography”.
