Rimpa, Jakuchu and the World of Elegance: Selections from the Hosomi Collection, Kyoto

Detail

The Hosomi Museum in Kyoto is based on the collection of the late Osaka industrialist, Hosomi Ryo (first generation Kokoan), and features some 1000 works of Japanese art representing almost all major time periods and categories. In this exhibition we introduce 89 works of Heian and Kamakura Buddhist/Shinto art and Edo paintings such as Rimpa and Ito Jakuchu from this brilliant collection.
